Three teenage boys were shot during two unrelated attacks hours apart late Wednesday and early Thursday, and a ride-share driver also was wounded in one of the shootings, according to Chicago police.

Two 15-year-old boys were wounded in the 900 block of North Orleans Street on the Near North Side about 2:15 a.m., police said. At least one person in a red Dodge Charger shot toward a gray sedan, striking the teens, who had been standing on the sidewalk.

One of the teens suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and the other teen suffered wounds to his leg and foot, police said.

The boys were taken by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Also wounded in the same attack was a 38-year-old ride-share driver. He was shot in the hand while sitting in his parked Toyota Prius waiting to pick up passengers, police said.

The man drove to the intersection at Locust and Orleans streets, where paramedics met him and drove him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for additional treatment. He had been listed in fair condition, police said.

Hours earlier, just minutes before midnight, a 13-year-old was walking outside in West Englewood. Two men he didn’t know, wearing all black, approached the sidewalk in the 6800 block of South Wolcott Avenue and fired shots at the boy. He was struck in the abdomen and leg, police said.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition.

“It is currently unknown if the victim was the intended target in this incident,” police said of the 13-year-old.

No arrests had been made in connection with either shooting.
