KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM1mil worth of drugs has been seized in four raids in Selangor.

City deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Yong Lei Choo told a press conference on Friday (Oct 22) that the raids were conducted after police uncovered a drug distribution ring operating in Brickfields.

“On Oct 19, the operation dubbed Ops Shadow was conducted where four separate locations were raided, including two premises that had been turned into drug stockpiles.

“Two raids were conducted at a residence in Jalan Bukit Palma, leading to one arrest,” she said.

Two additional raids were conducted at another residence in Bangi, and a house in Seri Kembangan.

Police seized around 25.27kg of suspected methamphetamine and 20.66kg of suspected heroin.

“The estimated value of the seized drugs has been placed at RM1,174,200. The 31-year-old suspect has been remanded until Oct 26.

“Checks showed that he has no police record but a urine test confirmed that he tested positive for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)," she said.

It is believed that the syndicate has been active for the last two months, and that its market was primarily within the Klang Valley.
