       Prince Harry was serenaded with a rendition of Happy Birthday from crowds at the Invictus Games today.

       Flanked by a grinning Meghan Markle, the announcer drew attention to the fact Harry turns 39 today and got the audience to mark the special occassion.

       The announcer asked the crowd at the Merkur Spiel-Arena: "Is there anybody here celebrating their own special occasion today?

       "Anyone's birthday? Oh I think it is someone's birthday. A certain Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, 39 today. Happy birthday! Let's sing along."

       The audience then started to sing a rendition of the song, as Harry clapped along and smiled next Meghan - who joined in with the applause. Once the singing was over, Harry gave a thumbs up and mouthed "thank you" to the spectators.

       Meghan, wearing a Zara jumpsuit, Celine Blazer and Saint Laurent Sandals, showered her husband in hugs and clapped along with the audience, as she appeared to enjoy the crowd making such a fuss over the birthday boy.

       Last night Harry and Meghan, accompanied by their top team, headed out to a popular restaurant to mark his special day.

       Harry drunk "six glasses" of the Alt Schumacher beer as he celebrated his birthday, along with the success of the 2023 Invictus Games in Dusseldorf. But Meghan stuck to just the one pint.

       The group dined on local delicacies such as Wiener Schnitzel, sausage and pork knuckle.

       The waiting staff presented Harry with a special white chocolate birthday cake after the meal, which he took back to their ￡2,000-a-night hotel and shared with his team.

       Harry has not yet received any public happy birthday messages from the Royal Family - including his father King Charles and brother Prince William - and he is unlikely to receive any.

       This is because since Charles ascended the throne only senior working members of the Firm receive public birthday wishes.

       Harry was sent public birthday messages in 2020 and 2021 but last year marked the first year he didn't receive one, likely because his birthday fell during the mourning period of Queen Elizabeth II.
