PETALING JAYA: A 53-year-old man was detained for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl at a flat in Sri Damansara.

       Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the girl's father lodged a police report on Tuesday (Sept 28) claiming that the suspect had molested his daughter.

       "The father was shown a video clip showing the suspect hugging the girl and rubbing his private parts against her.

       "The suspect was detained with the assistance of the flat residents," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Sept 29).

       Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had committed similar actions to the victim's two other friends, both aged 11, ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said.

       "The suspect is not a resident of the flat. He went there on the pretext of finding his friend.

       "He has been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations," he said.
