PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has visited flood victims at an evacuation centre (PPS) in Selangor.
He visited the PPS at SK Johan Setia near Shah Alam on Sunday (Dec 19), Bernama reports.
The continuous downpour in several states since Friday (Dec 17) has caused flash floods in housing areas and main roads.
Earlier, Ismail Sabri had said that that 453 vehicle and logistics assets from various agencies, including the Civil Defence Force, the police, the armed forces, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Health Ministry have been mobilised to assist victims, with a strength of 2,817 personnel.
As of Sunday morning, over 14,000 flood victims are seeking shelter at relief centres, with Pahang recording the highest number of evacuees at 5,189
