KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor and Kuala Lumpur must achieve the three key threshold value indicators before both localities can move to Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Deputy Prime Minister said both Selangor and Kuala Lumpur are currently in Phase One of the NRP, following the end of the enhanced movement control order in several sub-districts and areas.
"The 10% vaccination threshold value for the adult population has been achieved, but the number of cases is still high and the usage of beds at Intensive Care Units (ICU) are still critical.
"EMCO will still be imposed on localities, which recorded a stark increase in Covid-19 cases," he said in a statement on Saturday (July 17).
Ismail Sabri said the government will take stern action against those in the economic sector, especially factories, which failed to adhere to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
"We will step-up Ops Patuh under the Home Ministry to ensure high compliance among business premises and factories," he said.
The government will not compromise in taking action against any party who violates the SOP, including ordering for the premises to close, he added.
