Metro suspended rail service on part of the Orange Line in Virginia on Tuesday evening after a power outage during a thunderstorm left tens of thousands without power across the region.
Metro said train service was suspended between the Vienna and East Falls Church stations due to a power outage at the West Falls Church station. Shuttle buses were being sent to carry passengers between the closed stations.

Dominion Energy reported that more than 63,000 customers were without power in Northern Virginia.
