KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia has issued unusual market activity (UMA) queries to Silver Ridge Holdings Bhd, Widad Group Bhd and Tanco Holdings Bhd following the sharp fall in their share prices.

       “Investors are advised to take note of the company’s reply to the UMA query which will be posted at Bursa Malaysia’s website under the company announcement when making their investment decision,” the stock market operator said.

       Bursa Malaysia has asked the three companies to disclose any corporate development relating to its business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity, including those in the stage of negotiations or discussions.

       Silver Ridge, an investment holding and provision of management services company, lost 35.5 sen, 29.58% to 84.5 sen with 13.99 million shares done.

       Widad, hit limit down, losing 30 sen, or 61.22% to 19 sen. It was the second most actively traded counter on Bursa Malaysia with 190.34 million shares traded.

       In a reply to the UMA query, Widad said except for ongoing preliminary business proposals, the board is unaware of undisclosed developments in the group's business that might explain recent trading activity.

       “Save for several business proposals which are still under discussion in the preliminary stages, the board is not aware of any corporate development relating to the group’s business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion,” it said.

       Meanwhile, Tanco slid 22.14% or 14.5 sen to 51 sen with 66.59 million shares changing hands.
