KUALA LUMPUR: The police will be keeping a close eye on the football friendly between Malaysia and Hong Kong on Wednesday (June 1).
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar, in a statement Wednesday, said that traffic flow will be controlled by the police from 5.30pm.
“As a security measure, checks will be conducted before and after entry into the stadium. Body and baggage checks will be conducted.
“Contraband includes fireworks, lasers, matches and helmets,” he said.
Police summonses will be issued to vehicles that block any flow of traffic, he said.
Security will also be focused at entrances and at several key areas around the pitch.
He also urged road users to avoid the areas near the Bukit Jalil Stadium if they are not there to watch the game.
“We urge all to wear their face masks in crowded areas and to maintain decorum. Do not provoke and cause disturbances throughout the match,” he said.
