KOTA KINABALU: Police are in pursuit of a drug dealer suspect after the latter escaped from an attempted arrest in front of a commercial centre in Menggatal, near here Monday (Oct 11).

       In a viral video showing what was believed to be the incident, several plain-clothed policemen had tried to get the suspect out of his locked vehicle, but the suspect refused to cooperate.

       They had to shoot at the tyre of the vehicle but that did not stop the suspect from speeding off.

       The incident, which was believed to have happened at about 2pm, was recorded by other restaurant patrons.

       Police have yet to provide full details on the case.

       According to police sources, the suspect had yet to be caught as of 4pm.

       Kota Kinabalu acting OCPD Supt George Rakman is expected to issue a statement later today.
