KOTA KINABALU: A man was found electrocuted near his Kampung Numbak house near here on Tuesday (April 12) morning.
The 37-year-old local was found unconscious at around 7am near his house at Jalan Yayasan Tebagu, and it is believed that the man was killed while handling live wires.
Lintas Fire and Rescue Station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said they received a call about the incident at around 7.03am and had dispatched a team to investigate.
“When our personnel arrived, there were already policemen and other authorities at the scene, including medical officials and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) personnel,” she said when contacted.
She said their duty was to conduct a safety check at the area to make sure that there are no more dangerous elements left, and the operation ended at 9.02am.
According to officials at the scene, there were elements of power theft based on the wire connections and how the victim was found.
However, it is unclear whether the victim was involved in power theft.
