A VIDEO buff drove 600 miles to save 20,000 VHS tapes — adding to his collection worth over ￡1million.
Andy Johnson, 42, says his new haul dates from the 1970s, and includes a rare BBC tape of Charles and Di’s wedding in 1981.

He said: “We’re on a mission to save film. It’s important to protect them for future generations. A lot of amazing movies were never brought out digitally.
“They’re in danger of being lost forever, not to mention the millions of hours of precious family memories people only have on VHS tapes.”
He drove from Liverpool to Dundee to get the tapes from George McInnes, who got them from car boot sales.
Andy, who has a three-year-old son, runs what is said to be the UK’s only VHS shop, VideOdyssey in Toxteth, which he opened in 2018.
His new haul more than doubles his collection, and he went on: “VHS is starting to have a similar comeback seen with vinyl.
“People want that physical connection to their favourite films, rather than the cold experience of playing something from the cloud.”
