MELAKA: A teen rape victim shared with Melaka police on how her maternal aunt allegedly groomed her before forcing her to have an intimate relationship with her husband.

       State CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman said that this was the reason the investigation team recommended the 37-year-old woman to be prosecuted under the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017.

       “She had allegedly groomed the victim to have an intimate relationship with her husband, when the latter was only 15-year-old,” he said when interviewed here on Monday (July 26).

       ACP Mohd Sukri said the woman was charged at a court here on July 23 and is currently detained at a prison here, awaiting for her court proceedings.

       He said the 39-year-old husband was expected to be charged under Section 376 of the Penal Code at the Alor Gajah Sessions Court on Tuesday (July 27).

       On Sunday (July 25), ACP Mohd Sukri said the teenager claimed she had been her uncle's sex slave since 2018.

       He said the victim, who is now 18-years-old, lodged a police report at Kuala Sungai Baru on July 18, claiming her uncle had been sexually assaulting her for the past three years.

       ACP Mohd Sukri said the victim alleged that she had been raped on numerous occasions at the couple's home in Kuala Sungai Baru here.

       He said the victim had been living with the couple since she was 10 years old, after her biological parents had passed away.
