Seven neighbours in Corby are celebrating after winning ￡240,000 with People's Postcode Lottery. NN18 8DW was announced as a winner with the lottery on May 23 landing six lucky players with a cheque for ￡30,000 each while Sandor Piroth, 59, pocketed ￡60,000 playing with two tickets.

       He grinned in delight when his cheque for ￡30k was revealed and said: Oh wow! That’s a great amount, it's worth doing, isn’t it. It’s always going to help as we’ve all been going through a hard time right now and it’s the perfect time to win this kind of money, it's brilliant!”

       Sandor was doubly shocked when Jeff then revealed a second cheque for another ￡30,000. He said: “Blimey, Oh my god, Fantastic!”

       Sandor hopes to treat himself to a new kitchen and cooker with the winnings and he already has his first meal planned out. He said: “The starter would be a Hungarian goulash because my parents are Hungarian, but no dessert cause I’m on a diet”, he laughed.

       Sandor works in the fishing tackle industry and has a special holiday in mind with his girlfriend Lorraine, he said: “We’ll definitely be looking at a holiday to the Maldives, hopefully in November.”

       The ex-serviceman from the Queen’s regiment plans to donate some of the winnings to his regimental charity which he plans to visit next month. He added: “I’m due to go there soon as they have a woodland and we like to help out; it’s a good place to reflect.”

       Sandor plans to go out for a nice meal to celebrate the windfall with his partner with the restaurants nearby re-opening.

       Another one of the lucky winners who has taken home ￡30,000 has a lot to celebrate, with his pregnant daughter’s gender reveal party and 24th wedding anniversary falling on the same week.

       Gary Harman, 51, found out how much he’d won on a video call with lottery ambassador Jeff Brazier. Gary took home ￡30,000 and was shocked when his cheque was revealed, he said: “Wow, wow, wow. Fantastic, yeah amazing, absolutely amazing!

       “That’s a lot of money; I’m over the moon.”

       The dad-of-two was overjoyed at the win and will soon welcome his first grandchild. His daughter, Ellie is pregnant, and is due in October and he hopes to spend the winnings on his family. He said: “I can treat the wife and kids, I’ll be buying the grandkid some special things before it even gets here.”

       Gary works as maintenance engineer and has lived in Corby all of his life. He and his wife, Donna have plenty to celebrate as their 24th wedding anniversary is on Monday and the winnings will help the couple to celebrate in style with a romantic getaway.
