PETALING JAYA: Short-term interbank rates closed stable yesterday on Bank Negara’s operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.
Liquidity in the conventional system dropped to RM33bil from RM34.5bil, while for Islamic funds, it eased to RM18.5bil from RM23.4bil previously.
Earlier, the central bank called for two conventional money market tenders, two Qard tenders and two reverse repo tenders.
The average Islamic overnight rate stood at 1.72%, while the one-, two- and three-week rates stood at 1.78%, 1.82% and 1.85%, respectively. — Bernama
