The world is full of famous tourist attractions that entice millions of visitors every year.

       The Statue of Liberty, Buckingham Palace, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, and the Great Wall of China are just a few examples of these iconic attractions.

       However, there are alternatives to these beautiful, but overcrowded, attractions that will take you off the beaten track to find some hidden gems.

       According to TimeOut, there are 10 underrated places that are a must-visit in 2024.

       The list was compiled by travel booking site Wingie which went through TripAdvisor to find the hidden jewels around the world.

       In tenth place was The Rooms in Canada. According to their site, The Rooms is “Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest public cultural space” and “represents and showcases our province to itself and to the world”.

       The Rooms followed closely behind SkyPoint Climb on Australia’s Gold Coast which is a hilltop climb that overlooks Surfer’s Paradise from level 77 of the SkyPoint Observation Deck.

       Coming in eighth was another entry from Australia in the shape of the Newcastle Memorial Walk in Newcastle. This was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings in Gallipoli in 1915.

       On a different continent altogether in seventh place was Kiambethu Farm in Kenya. Here tourists can learn about the history of the farm and enjoy a cup of tea.

       This came just behind America’s Stetson Mansion in sixth.

       Built by iconic hat maker and philanthropist John B Stetson it was Florida’s first luxury estate and one of the first to be constructed with Edison electricity.

       As with the bottom five, the top five was an international melee.

       In fifth was Stone Hall Castle in Canada which is a mixture of 16th, 17th, and 18th-century artefacts.

       This was followed by another entry from Canada in the shape of the famous Cabot Trail which features magnificent views of the country’s awesome natural landscape.

       In third place is the UAE’s Al Noor Island a lagoon island in the middle of Sharjah City. Tourists have described it as “fun” and relaxing on TripAdvisor.

       Second place was Europe’s only entry on the list. The Irish National Stud and Gardens in Ireland “combines an active role in the development and promotion of Irish thoroughbred bloodstock” according to TripAdvisor.

       The most underrated tourist attraction according to Wingie is the Ahhh Ras Natango Gallery and Garden in Jamaica which boasts amazing views and stunning locally made pieces of art.
