The Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchased the nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom property, which spans a whopping 18,000 square feet on five acres of land, after stepping down as members of the Royal Family. A study carried out by accommodation experts Luxury Hotel used the real estate rental formula of taking 1.1 percent of a property’s overall value to calculate how much the couple could charge every month if they decided to rent out.
Their analysis estimates that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could make at least £121,000 a month ($164,000) and 1.5 million a year in rent on their exclusive property.
According to their findings, it would cost as much to rent Harry and Meghan’s Montecito home for just two months as it would to buy the average UK home.
As well as the nine bedrooms within the property, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s home also boasts a gym and spa complete with its own sauna, a home cinema, arcade, and games room. It is also believed to have a separate guest house with two more bedrooms, where friends and family can stay.
The research comes following reports that the couple plan to move out of their Montecito home after just 18 months as they do not like its location.
