KUALA LUMPUR: A viral video of a man being "dragged away" by a car happened after a four-vehicle collision, say police.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said an accident occurred at 2.15am Sunday (April 17) after a driver tried to avoid a man that was crossing the road.
The 44-year-old driver was forced to slam on her brakes after noticing the man crossing the road. That led to the other vehicles behind her - a car and two motorcycles - to hit one another.
"Following the collisions, two motorcyclists suffered injuries and have been sent to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in Cheras for treatment.
"The video in question occurred after the accident, where the pedestrian, a Chinese foreigner, tried to enter a MyVi that was at the scene, out of fear of being threatened by members of the public.
“He has been brought to the Cheras police headquarters for documentation purposes and for complaining that he had been threatened by the public there," he said.
The video showed a shirtless man being dragged by a red MyVi as he held onto the door.
