An 18-year-old cyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after a collision with a vehicle in the North Bethesda area, Montgomery County police said.

       Police are investigating the incident after officers were called to the area of Old Georgetown Road and Cheshire Drive about 4:09 p.m., according to a statement. Authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene, officials said.

       The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.

       Officials did not immediately name the cyclist, pending notification of his family, police said.
