QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser on Labour and Manpower Ghu-lam Rasool Khan Umrani has said that the youth of the province are a valuable national asset and that the provincial government is committed to equipping them with quality training to make them self-reliant.
Speaking on the occasion of International Youth Skills Day, Mr Umrani stressed that harnessing the potential of young people is vital for the country’s development. “The skills of our youth are a precious resource, and their development forms the foundation of our social and economic future,” he said.
He added that preparing the younger generation to thrive in a rapidly evolving world is a top priority for the Balochistan government. Among the flagship initiatives is the Chief Minister’s Youth Skill Development and Over-seas Employment Progra-mme, under which 30,000 skilled individuals from the province are being sent abroad for employment.
“This initiative will not only enable Balochistan’s youth to access better employment opportunities but will also help boost the country’s foreign exchange reserves,” the adviser said.
He also highlighted the vital role played by institutions such as the Baloch-istan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, tec-h-nical training centres, and polytechnic colleges in providing training across a ran-ge of trades and skill sets.
Mr Umrani encouraged the youth to take advantage of these opportunities, noting that skills are the key to success in today’s competitive world.
