JOHOR BARU: Twenty-eight individuals were slapped with compound notices of RM1,000 each for failing to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP).

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the notices were issued during a raid at an entertainment outlet at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak near here on Wednesday (April 20).

"Nine females and 18 males, all locals, were patrons while a 21-year old male was a worker of the outlet," he said in a statement.

ACP Raub said the worker was detained for failing to produce a valid business licence and violating the SOP under the transition into the endemic phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

He added the compound notices were issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021.

Police also seized a laptop, a microphone, an amplifier, a wireless microphone and three business receipts in the operation.

ACP Raub said the case was also being investigated under Section 6(2) of the Johor Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment.

"We urge the public to adhere to the SOPs outlined under the National Recovery Plan and actions will be taken against those found violating them," he said.

ACP Raub urged those with information on such incidents to contact the Johor Baru South Police district headquarters at 07-2182 323 or the nearest police station.
