Images from Highways England showed smoke and emergency services attending the scene. It lead to one lane being blocked and a slipway partially closed.

       The update on traffic and travel website Inrix earlier this morning read: "M25 anticlockwise slip road from the services blocked one lane closed, slow traffic due to lorry fire at Clacket Lane Services.

       "No exit from the services at the moment, with lane one (of four) also closed past the scene, between J6 Godstone and J5 M26."

       Junction 5 sits just outside Sevenoaks. Junction 6 is the intersection with the A22 near Oxted, to the south east of London.

       In a further update, it said: "Traffic was held for 10 minutes until 8.50am, now back ot lane one (of four) closed but vehicles are being allowed to exit the serives now, across the cross-hatching."

       By 9.12am this morning, there was a queue of traffic for three miles.

       However, SurryLive reported that by 9.38am traffic had returned to normal.
