PETALING JAYA: Action will be taken by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to prevent the sale of vaccination slots, says Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).

The task force along with the police had been investigating this as early as June, he said.

Khairy noted that the police would keep the public informed about any developments.

“An integrity and investigation committee had been created and is staffed by members of CITF, the police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“Besides that, vaccine monitoring guidelines and a ‘standby list’ have been enforced at vaccine dispensing centres (PPV) to ensure there is no abuse of power in the distribution of vaccines,” he said.

On a separate matter, Khairy said that sanitation and separating close contacts are carried out when a Covid-19 positive case is detected at a PPV.

“I have also instructed all PPV to perform thorough checks at entrances to ensure those with certain risk statuses are not allowed in.

“At the same time, I would like to remind all who have undergone Covid-19 tests to be responsible and not be at a PPV for vaccination or as a caretaker when their test results are still pending,” he added.

On the issue of MySejahtera showing expiry dates for second vaccine shots, he assured the public these dates were for the first jab.

“In short, the expiry date on the second dose received and on MySejahtera is for the first dose received. This is supported by several documents that have been checked.”
