KUALA LUMPUR: Touch ‘n Go Group has teamed up with the Finance Ministry and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp to accelerate online shopping and support local businesses.
Given the acceleration in e-Wallet adoption and digital payments, TNG Digital Sdn Bhd CEO Ignatius Ong said the group is looking to get more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro merchants to adopt e-commerce and e-payment platforms via Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
“We strongly encourage as these merchants will have access to more than 16 million users across Malaysia, ” he said in a statement.

Ong noted that each micro enterprise, SME or Malaysian individual without a business registration that registers with Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet during the “Go-eCommerce Onboarding and Shop Malaysia Online (SMO)” campaign period would be entitled to a RM20 subsidy for their first successful sale.
However, he said this is limited to the first 80, 000 new Touch ‘n Go eWallet merchants approved within the campaign period.
The campaign runs from July 1 to Dec 31, 2021.
