PETALING JAYA: A couple clad in their wedding attire stole the limelight at a Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV).
Syazwina Sam wore her wedding dress for her second dose vaccination appointment on Aug 4 as she was also having her solemnisation ceremony on the same day, reported The Star’s Malay portal, mStar.
“At first, we received a date from the religious office that our solemnisation ceremony would be held on Aug 4 at 12pm.
“After getting my first dose on July 14, I was told that my next appointment would be on Aug 4 at 2.30pm.
“Luckily, the PPV officer said I could come earlier in the morning before my ceremony,” Syazwina said, adding that she wanted to avoid cancelling her vaccine appointment.
Syazwina, 26, from Cheras, said she wore her wedding dress before leaving for the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre PPV and the religious office afterwards.
“I arrived at the PPV at 10am accompanied by my groom, who was wearing a white baju Melayu to match my dress.
“I noticed that a lot of people were staring at me, but I did not really pay attention as I was in a rush.
“Some people asked if I was wearing a costume to which I replied, ‘I’m getting married after this’,” she said, adding that some people were amused to hear this.
Syazwina also expressed her gratitude to the PPV personnel, whom she said made her special day easier.
“Once I was done with my vaccination, my groom and I rushed to the religious office for our solemnisation ceremony,” she said.
Syazwina added that she did not expect her story to go viral on social media.
