KUWAIT CITY, June 20: According to the Al-Ajairi Scientific Center, Kuwait is experiencing the longest day of the year today, marking the beginning of the summer solstice. The solstice is set to commence at 5:58 PM. The center mentioned in a statement to KUNA that this date coincides with the longest duration of daylight, reaching 14 hours, while the night hours shorten accordingly.
Today, the sun rises at 4:49 AM and sets at 6:50 PM. The center further explained that during the summer solstice, the sun’s movement shifts towards the north in the Tropic of Cancer, resulting in brighter sunlight and consequently shorter nights coupled with longer days.
