KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) has partnered Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd to provide customised solutions for SMEs and exporters.
They said in a joint statement on Friday an MoU was inked at the sidelines of the launch of Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2021 yesterday.
The collaboration will focus on enhancing access for companies under Bank Islam's clienteles to export facilitation by Matrade and for Matrade’s members to secure acquire export financing package from the bank.
Bank Islam’s SMEXpert Ecosystem platform will assist SMEs seek new export initiatives, sustain their competitiveness in the digital transformation journey, and providing total financing solutions to SMEs and mid-tier companies for the global market.

Bank Islam CEO Mohd Muazzam Mohamed said through this MoU with Matrade, Bank Islam will provide a digital platform for SMEs via its mobile application called SMEXpert.
The newly-launched app, amongst others, will provide a digital marketing platform to promote SMEs' products and services of various sectors, whether as a business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-customer (B2C) platform. SMEXpert will support the SMEs' business ecosystem and financial resources.
"Bank Islam is also committed to support the development and expansion of new markets for exporters through financial products, stakeholder engagements and business matching opportunities.
“We will continue to provide a comprehensive Islamic-compliant financial solutions and trade financing advisory for Matrade members in solidifying their business and presence in the market," Mohd Muazzam said.
