A COMMUTER screamed “help, someone's trapped under the bus” as a woman was killed and three injured in central London today, says an eyewitness.

A 507 single-decker bus collided with another bus in front of Victoria station at about 8.25am, ramming it into pedestrians, according to passers-by.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9am, Met Police said.

Big Issue seller Jacob Davidson, 36, from South Norwood, who saw the collision, said: “I was coming across the forecourt at around ten past eight... then all of sudden I heard a massive bang to the left of me.

“I realised it was a bus that had hit a stationary bus in front.

“Then I saw two cab drivers jump over the railing and were crouching down looking under the bus.

"They were shouting 'help, someone is trapped under the bus'.

“Commuters then rushed to the railing to see what was happening.

“There was a woman laying outside the bus driver's door being helped by two or three people."

Davidson added: “Then I looked under the front of the bus and there was another man stuck under the bus.

“He was aligned with the front tyres of the bus - but you have to remember that’s five or six feet under."

Davidson said he noticed the woman "was in the recovery position".

Fazian Raja, 27, from Ilford, east London, said: "I saw some people run across the road in front of the bus and that's when I heard a very loud bang."

Georgiana Mate, 29, from Romania, who works nearby, said: “I was having a cigarette outside and heard a loud bang.

“So I went over to the buses and I saw someone under the bus.

“The police arrived about 10 minutes later."

The bus had to be hoisted off the ground by a fire engine to free the victim who was trapped underneath, other shocked passers-by said.

Two injured people were rushed to hospital and paramedics treated a fourth person at the scene.

Emergency crews put up protective screens as they battled to save the victim.

       CORDON IN PLACE

Cops could be seen examining the buses and photographing the crash site.

Victoria bus station in Terminus Place remains cordoned off as police investigate.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 08.25am to reports of a collision involving two buses and three pedestrians outside Victoria Railway Station.

"Emergency services attended and immediately provided first aid.

"One of the pedestrians, believed to be aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9am.

"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

"Two other people were treated for non-life threatening injuries and one person was treated for minor injuries at the scene."
