SEREMBAN: A 23-year-old man claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to a charge of splashing red paint at the home of a businesswoman in Seremban 2 near here.
Zulhilmi Nazran Zaifulnizam, who was then an agent of an unlicensed moneylender, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him before judge Diana Mad Razali.
He allegedly committed the offence with another suspect who was still at large around 8pm on Aug 28.
He was also charged with locking the front gate of the victim's house and leaving a threatening note demanding that she paid up.
Zulhilmi was charged under Section 29B(1) of the Moneylending Act 1951 read together with section 34 of the Penal Code.
Offenders can be fined between RM50,000 and RM250,000 or jailed not more than three years or both upon conviction.
Diana then set bail at RM5,000 and fixed remention for Nov 9. She also ordered him to report to the nearest police station every month.
Zulfikri Mohd Nasir prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
