A 35-year-old Virginia man died Sunday after crashing into a metal pole as he was driving north on 16th Street in Silver Spring, police said.

       The driver, whom police did not identify, was behind the wheel of a black Cadillac Escalade, approaching Lyttonsville Road shortly before 5 a.m. when he collided with the pole, according to police in Montgomery County.

       Two other passengers in the car, both adults, were uninjured. Police are still investigating but have not found signs of foul play. The driver was from Bristow.
