BRIT squaddies allegedly laughed on Facebook about the death of a mum after her body was discovered in a septic tank in Kenya.
The Sunday Times claims a UK soldier is responsible for the March 2012 killing of Agnes Wanjiru, 21 - and while top brass were made aware almost immediately, no action was taken.

The paper says the alleged killer - Soldier X - served on the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment. He was named by four colleagues after Agnes' death.
Now it's reported that servicemen joked about the horror on social media several years after she was last seen entering a hotel room with the soldier.
A member of the same regiment posted two photos from outside the Lions Court Hotel, where her body was found.
The images featured the caption 'if you know, you know' with a crying-laughing emoji. The soldier tagged a number of other squaddies to alert them.
Several soldiers, at least one of whom is still with the regiment, responded.
One posted a photo of a ghost emoji, and another chillingly added the words: "Septic tank."
A third wrote: "Rum gaff" - meaning 'dodgy place'.
Soldier X posted an emoji of an angel. Other soldiers then responded with crying-laughing emojis, followed by a cartoon of a baby crying at a funeral from TV show Family Guy.
Agnes was the single mum of a five-month-old daughter, Stacy.
'VILE JOKES'
Soldier X was then asked if he gets "all choked up thinking about that place" - an apparent reference to allegations he killed Agnes by choking her during sex.
He replied: “Come to think of it I have had a sore throat today.”
Nine soldiers were involved in the Facebook conversation, adding weight to previous claims made by others in the regiment that Agnes' death, and the name of the man said to be responsible, was an “open secret”.
One of those who responded to the post told the paper he hadn't believed Soldier X was a killer.
“If I was laughing, I was probably laughing at the night, because it was a bit of a crazy night,” he said. “There was loads of women.”
When asked whether he had knowingly joined in with the jokes about Agnes' murder, he said: “I don’t think I was laughing at that [a murder].
“The rumour I heard is that somebody had sex with a prostitute, and the sex went wrong. To be honest I didn’t even believe it.”
When presented with the Facebook posts last week, Soldier X declined to comment.
He previously told the paper he was “not surprised” that others in the regiment believed he was responsible for the murder, saying: “There was a rumour going around for a long time, which actually was borderline bullying.
'IT'S LIES, THEY'RE IDIOTS'
"But there’s nothing you can do when you’re in the military, and people say stuff like that, but honestly, it’s full of lies.”
Referring to his army colleagues, he said: “There’s a lot of idiots, but there’s no real truth in it.”
One squaddie - known as Soldier Y - claimed Soldier X had rushed into the bar where members of the regiment were drinking on the night of March 31, 2012.
He confessed to killing a sex worker before leading them to a body hidden in the septic tank, it's alleged.
"He took me to the tank and lifted it up, and I looked in and I just remember seeing her in there," Soldier Y said.
"My heart sank. My mind just went blank. The only thing I could say to him was: ‘I’ll never forgive you for this’.”
Soldier Y said he reported the incident to senior officers and accused the regiment of "covering up" the murder.
Agnes' body was discovered two months after the soldiers returned to the UK.
At an inquest in 2019, Judge Njeri Thuku ruled that Agnes was "murdered by British soldiers".
