"Due to the late arrival of fans, the match has been delayed," the announcer said 15 minutes before the initial kick-off time which was 9:00 pm local time.

However, Liverpool fans were complaining the organizing work of the stadium and UEFA, and pictures showed that there were still over 1,000 fans outside the staidum waiting to enter.
"This is not 'due to late arrival of fans' as announced in the Stade de France. It's because of bad planning," tweeted a sports journalist from the Guardian.
