HULU SELANGOR: Two Nepali men were crushed to death in an accident along Jalan Sungai Choh-Bukit Beruntung here.

       Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said the incident occurred at around 9.30pm on Sunday (March 10).

       "The two friends were travelling on a motorcycle in the direction of Bukit Beruntung when they hit a stalled car by the side of the road near the KM8 mile marker.

       "Investigations revealed that the car was having engine problems and was parked by the roadside," he said in a statement on Monday (March 11).

       He said the two men were flung off the motorcycle and landed on the road.

       "A tanker lorry heading in the same direction could not brake in time or avoid the victims, and ran over them.

       "The two men were crushed under the rear tyres," he said, adding that both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

       The lorry and car drivers were not injured.

       Supt Ahmad Faizal said all the vehicles involved in the incident have been taken to the Hulu Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department for further action.

       "The case is being investigated for reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

       "The two victims were aged 42 and 45," he said.

       Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to come forward and help with the investigation.
