MELAKA: Melaka Pakatan Harapan is looking at all legal avenues to stop the state election next month.
State Pakatan chief Adly Zahari said the management of the Melaka Legislative Assembly had failed to issue an official notice of dissolution to all assemblymen accordingly.
“We will go ahead with our attempt to stop the state election through legal means to make way for the party with the majority to form the state government without going to the polls,” he said in a statement Monday (Oct 18).
However, Adly said Pakatan was ready to face the election if it goes on as scheduled.
Earlier, the Election Commission (EC) had set Nov 20 as polling day for the state election.
EC chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh also announced that nomination day would be on Nov 8 and early polling will be held on Nov 16.
Melaka has 28 state seats.
