PUTRAJAYA: Action will be taken against those who lodge fake police reports as the authorities investigate claims of rewards being offered in return for support for the Perikatan Nasional government.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said he had directed the police to carry out a thorough investigation.
“Investigation is also being carried out to determine the authenticity of the claims made by the parties involved.
“The Home Ministry will ensure that stern action, with no compromise, will be taken against parties proven to have committed a criminal offence, including for making police reports that are false and slanderous in nature,” he said yesterday.The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had said that it viewed the matter seriously and would continue investigating it.
