PAGOH: Nine people from three families were rescued after they were stranded in their houses at Kampung Kecik Pagoh, here, when their village was hit by a flood.
Pagoh Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Fadli Ismail said they received an emergency call on Wednesday (Jan 5) at 11am.
"Nine firefighters were sent to the village located under the overhead bridge at SMK Alauddin Riayat Shah to rescue the victims.
"Those rescued were a female senior citizen, two adult females, two boys and two girls," he said in a statement.
Mohd Fadil added that they were later brought to the temporary relief centre at Mukim Bukit Kepong.
He said a light fire rescue tender (LFRT) vehicle, a lorry, a 4WD utility truck and a boat were used in the rescue operation which ended at around 1.15pm.
