BAHAWALNAGAR: A pack of street dogs broke into several cattle yards in the Faqirwali area, maiming and killing 19 goats and leaving many more injured on Thursday night.
According to locals and police sources, more than 11 canines attacked the cattle yards of Nabi Ahmed, Razzaq Ahmed and Ashfaq in Chak 122/6R, killing 19 goats and wounding several others. The pack also attacked the livestock of Rehmat Ali in the same area.
The affected people, along with other residents, decried the administration’s inaction. They said street dogs in Faqirwali and surrounding areas were rising rapidly.

They said no systematic effort was being made to curb these attacks, leading to an increase in their frequency.
The victims demanded immediate compensation, either in the form of new livestock or cash equivalent to their losses, to help them sustain their livelihood.
