MELAKA: DAP will rely on online ceramah and talk shows following strict campaigning restrictions in the Melaka state polls, says Anthony Loke.
The DAP national organising secretary said that the Melaka state election was one of the most challenging elections that it has faced due to the strict campaigning restrictions.
"For DAP, we will find alternative ways, by holding ceramah and talk shows to send out our messages via online.
"This will be held every day live via our official party social media channels and also candidates’ pages at the state and federal level," he told a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 9).
The Election Commission (EC) had announced that there will be no physical campaign, ceramah or walkabouts during the state polls.
DAP had also launched a mobile truck as part of its campaign efforts and to reach out to voters, added Loke.
Loke said that the restriction had caused a major challenge for the party to collect donations.
"We hope that the EC will implement the rules across the board," he added.
Previously, other political parties including Umno and Perikatan Nasional leaders have expressed disappointment over the strict campaigning restrictions.
