PETALING JAYA: Karex Bhd slid into a net loss of RM5.1mil for the fourth quarter (Q4) of its financial year ended June 30, 2021 (FY21) due to higher costs amid the operational disruption caused by the movement control order to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

       In Q4 of FY20, the condom maker made a net profit of RM1.43mil.

       During the quarter in review, Karex’s revenue rose 17.2% to RM106.72mil from RM91.09mil in Q4 of FY20, driven by higher sales contributions from the sexual wellness and medical segments.

       For FY21, Karex posted a net loss of RM1.02mil, compared with a net profit of RM228,000 in FY20, while revenue rose to RM419.82mil from RM395.07mil.
