ISLAMABAD: The city managers on Monday finally decided to issue possession letters to allottees of at least two sub sectors of E-12 after Eid.
The sector was launched in 1989 and the civic authority had sold out over 4,000 plots to government officers and public, committing to complete development work within one year, but could not complete it as yet.
On the other hand, sources said that a number of allottees have already died, and now their descendants are waiting to get the possession letters.

In recent years, CDA started development work, but it could make progress only intwo sub-sectors, while the rest of the two sub-sectors are lying unattended.
CDA launched sector in 1989 but failed to complete development work
Meanwhile, according to a press release issued by CDA, an important meeting regarding sector development was held at the CDA Headquarters on Monday under the chairmanship of CDA chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
The meeting was attended by members of the CDA Board and senior officers from the relevant wings.

The press release said that during the meeting, CDA Chairman was given a detailed briefing on the development works in new sectors. Mr Randhawa directed that the possession of developed plots in Sector E-12 should be handed over to owners in phases upon completion of development works subject to the payment of development charges after the Eidul Fitar. He emphasised that possession of plots in Sector E-12 must be promptly transferred to owners after the completion of development works and payment of development charges.
The meeting also discussed development work of other stalled sectors and CDA Chairman instructed to expedite development activities in all new sectors including C-14 and stressed the need to accelerate work in Sector C-14.
He was briefed that the road infrastructure in Sector C-14 has reached its final stages of completion, while other development works, including roads, drainage, sewerage, and streetlights, will be completed by June.
It was also apprised in the meeting that Iesco has issued demand notices to ensure electricity supply in Sector C-14. The CDA chairman directed that possession of Sector C-14 must be handed over with the payment of final installment.
The CDA chairman reviewed the progress of development works in Sector E-12 and instructed the Member State to present a comprehensive solution. He said that after Eidul Fitr, development activities in the new sectors should be further accelerated, and all obstacles must be resolved on a priority basis.
Regarding Sector I-12, CDA Chairman directed that all garbage from the center be cleared as soon as possible, and the remaining development works should also be completed immediately.
The meeting also discussed the progress of development works in Sectors C-15 and C-16. The CDA chairman instructed the Engineering and Estate Wings to resolve all hurdles on a priority basis.
The press release said that CDA Chief stated that he would soon conduct surprise visits to the new sectors to personally oversee the resolution of various issues and ensure that development works progress timely.
Meanwhile, Directorate General Building and Housing Control Capital Development Authority (CDA), in collaboration with Enforcement Directorate CDA, sealed five illegal and unapproved marquees and commercial structures in Zone-IV and Zone-V of Islamabad including Blessings Marquee (Thanda Pani, Lehtrar Road), Liansa Marquee (Islamabad Expressway) – Immediate work stopped, while under construction Punjab Cash and Carry (Naval Anchorage Access Road) and Wasna Palace and White House Marquee (River Gardens).
