KUALA LUMPUR: Hubline Bhd’s subsidiary Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd (LLA) has secured a contract worth RM25.67mil from the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR) to provide helicopter and fixed wing rental services for the next 12th General Election (GE) in Sarawak.
In a statement, the group said that LLA, the largest general aviation operator in the country, had been invited earlier by SPR to bid for this tender in preparation for the next election.
However, it added that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused uncertainty on when the next GE could take place.
As such, Hubline pointed out that the contract spans 24 months, from Aug 26, 2021 to Aug 25, 2023.
“According to the contract, LLA will be responsible to provide helicopter and fixed wing aircraft inclusive of the aviation operations supplies and equipment, aircraft and crew preparation and implementation of flight schedules and operations.
“LLA will also be required to implement the Professional Training and Education for Growing Entrepreneurs (Protege) programme as set by the government and approved by the Protege Secretariat,” it added.
