KUALA LUMPUR: Genetec Technology Bhd fell in early trade Wednesday as investors take profit after recent gains.

       The ACE-market listed company shed 2.45%, or 68 sen to RM27.12, making it the top loser on Bursa Malaysia at 9.45am. It has appreciated more than 1,400% since the beginning of the year.

       Genetec was the top gainer on Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday after surged RM3.74 to RM27.80.

       A check on Genetec's filings with Bursa Malaysia indicated no recent developments apart from its employees' share option scheme.

       In the first quarter ended June 30, Genetec posted a net profit of RM8.18mil against a net loss of RM2.08mil a year ago.

       Revenue for the quarter rose to RM40.27mil from RM12.42mil in the same period last year.
