KOTA KINABALU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia supreme council member Datuk Lajim Ukin, who was hospitalised for Covid-19 since Aug 13, has passed away.
He was 66.
The former Beaufort MP was buried yesterday at the Muslim cemetary in Kampung Kebatu/Kampung Kabidang in Beaufort.
His wife Datin Seri Normilah Siong thanked those who had offered prayers for her husband.
“Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts during this tough time,” she said.
She also thanked medical officers who took care of her husband when he was fighting for his life.
Lajim, who was Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) executive chairman, was placed under an induced coma on Aug 24.
He has held a number of posts previously. Among others, he was a Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, Deputy Transport Minister and Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister.
