PETALING JAYA: More than one million children aged from five to 11 years old have been registered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) as it enters its third week, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
However, the Health Minister pointed out, in a series of tweets Monday (Feb 21) said this only represented 28% of the total number of five to 11-year-olds in the country.
He added that he hoped parents would register their children for the Covid-19 vaccination as soon as possible, especially since the rate of children's hospital admissions was on the rise.
"I hope parents will not take a 'wait-and-see' approach to the children's vaccinations. Register your child for PICKids today," Khairy said in his tweet.
He also shared the breakdown of registrations for PICKids and said that the Health Ministry would redouble efforts to reach out to communities with low coverage.
