KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein welcomes feedback from all parties, especially the rakyat, to improve Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
The Senior Minister, who has been appointed to lead pandemic management efforts under the National Security Council (NSC), said among his main tasks is to evaluate and update the SOP from time to time.
"I believe this is a continuous effort and it needs an inclusive approach.
"I am ready to receive feedback from all parties regarding the SOP for our mutual benefit," he told a press conference at the Defence Ministry on Thursday (Sept 2).
Hishammuddin said the public can forward their suggestions and feedback to him personally via various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
"I am ready to receive constructive suggestions and criticism regarding the SOP.
"We want to ensure that the SOP is easy to understand.
"We want a balanced SOP where health issues can be addressed, the economy can flourish and most importantly, the well-being of the rakyat is ensured," he said.
As Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin mentioned that the country will be entering the endemic phase by the end of October, the government and the rakyat must be ready to face a new normal and live with Covid-19, Hishammuddin said.
"As we are heading towards the endemic phase, an all-encompassing approach in setting the SOP is needed.
"I hope that our plans and approach will be improved. I also hope the SOP that will be announced by the government will be all-encompassing, long-term and easy to understand," he added.
