PETALING JAYA: All Covid-19 vaccines used in Malaysia are suitable for pregnant and lactating mothers, says the Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV).
In its latest updated Covid-19 vaccine guidelines, JKJAV said that studies have shown that the Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines are suitable for these groups.
It also said that Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac are suitable for pregnant mothers between 14 and 33 weeks of pregnancy.
JKJAV added that the three vaccines are suitable for lactating mothers.
"For gestation beyond 33 weeks, vaccination may be possible after consultation with a doctor.
"Please consult a doctor if you have any concerns.
"Updates on vaccine suitability will be provided from time to time," JKJAV added.
