KOTA KINABALU: A suspected Covid-19 patient in Keningau district tried escaping from the hospital there only to end up trapped outside a first-floor window.

       Keningau Fire station chief Sharudy Delamin said the 24-year-old had been taken to the hospital on Saturday (Oct 2) after she was suspected of having contracted the virus.

       However, she tried to escape early on Sunday (Oct 3) morning, he said when contacted.

       He said the department received a call about the attempted escape at 6.19am.

       “Our men used ladders to bring her down.

       "She was stuck outside a window on the first floor of one of the hospital blocks and could not get down," Sharudy said.

       He said the woman was handed over to medical officials after she was brought down safely from the ledge.

       It is not known why the woman wanted to escape. She was unhurt in the incident.
