A MURDER investigation has been launched after a woman in her 20s was found dead at a London home.

       Cops were called to a property on Earlham Grove in Newham after concerns were raised for the welfare of an occupant on Boxing Day.

       A woman's body was found at the East London house just before midday.

       Officers are working to establish her identity and inform her family, but she is believed to be in her 20s.

       A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

       A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and a crime scene has since been put in place.

       Homicide detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

       At this stage, the arrested man and the deceased are thought to have been known to each other.
