A VAN man allegedly tried to kidnap a young schoolboy in broad daylight - screaming at him to get inside the car, it's reported.
Cops have launched a probe into the reported attempted snatch in Cumbernauld on Tuesday morning.

The Daily Record reports that a worried parent took to social media to claim the lad, nine, was approached on his way to school.
And that the man in the van "started to scream at him to get into a van".
Detectives say that a man stopped his white van on Westfield Drive in the Lanarkshire town around 9.25am.
He then gestured to a young lad who was walking in the street at the time.
Cops haven't been able to establish any criminality.
But they are carrying out an investigation into the claims.

And they are now hunting the driver of the van as the probe continues.
Anyone with information has been urged to get in touch with police.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 9.25am, on Tuesday police received a report of an incident in Westfield Drive, Cumbernauld where a man stopped his white van and gestured to a young boy aged nine who was walking along the street.
"At this time police have been unable to establish if there was any criminality however officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and trace the driver.
"We have not received any further reports of such incidents in this area.
"If anyone has any information on this, or has any concerns, please contact Police Scotland via 101. "
