PRESIDENT Joe Biden reportedly broke wind "loudly" while gassing with Camilla Parker Bowles at the COP26 summit.

The Duchess of Cornwall "hasn't stopped talking about" the 78-year-old's "long fart" as it was "impossible to ignore", it's reported.

Hours before, the president, 78, appeared to doze off during the opening speeches

An insider told the Mail on Sunday the royal was taken aback when she heard the American president break wind as they chatted at the climate change event in Glasgow.

"It was long and loud and impossible to ignore," the source told the outlet.

"Camilla hasn't stopped talking about it."

The Duchess, 74, travelled to the Scottish city with Prince Charles for a reception at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery on Monday, where she met and made small talk with Biden - who hours earlier appeared to doze off during the opening speeches.

He was caught on camera folding his arms and gradually dozing off as the conference kicked off on Monday afternoon.

Biden appeared to close his eyes for a few seconds before waking himself up, only to drift off again.

Then Biden - branded "Sleepy Joe" by Donald Trump - closed his eyes for 30 seconds before a man in a suit came over to stir him awake.

The US leader then uncrossed his arms and listened to what the staff member was telling him, before applauding the opening speaker.

Despite producing some natural gas of his own, Biden has during the summit pledged to work with the EU and dozens of other nations to reduce overall methane emissions worldwide by 30 per cent by 2030.

The centrepiece of US actions is a proposed rule by the Environmental Protection Agency to tighten methane regulations for the oil and gas sector.

It would for the first time target reductions from existing oil and gas wells nationwide, rather than focus only on new wells as previous regulations have done.

“One of the most important things we can do in this decisive decade — to keep 1.5 degrees in reach — is reduce our methane emissions as quickly as possible,″ Biden said, referring to a global pledge to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above levels in the late 19th century.
